The name ‘Tips Down’ comes from an old skiing story: With everyone watching from the bottom, a guy jumps into a steep chute, narrowly passes the rocks in his path, barrels to the bottom at high speed. Later on at the end of the day, the guy’s at the lodge and gets asked “Man, that was incredible. How do you do it?” He replies, “Well, when I’m standing at the top of the mountain, I point my ski tips down.”
